So the standard (red) ignition replaces the points and condensers, while still utilizing the mechanical advance assembly.

The e-advance (blue) ignition replaces the mechanical advance assembly, essentially making the ignition system 100% electronic.

Both kits use the same components (coil, wires, etc.)
