When you install the PMA charging system, you lose the OEM timing marks that were located on the alternator housing.
The standard advanced degree is 40 +/- 2 degrees BTDC. The proper way to achieve this position is with a degree wheel.
The electronic ignition system should already be designed for the correct advance. With electronic ignitions, you set it at your fire mark 20 +/-2 degrees.
The ignition itself would advance per its internal programming.
An electronic ignition would not allow you to be able to modify its advance timing setting.
In other words, if you modify its original firing position, which is possible, it would automatically relocate the advance curve.
